CAYENA FLOWER DESCRIPTION:

The genus includes from herbaceous, annual or perennial plants, to small bushes and small trees. The leaves are alternate, simple, from ovate to lanceolate, often with serrated or lobed margin. The flowers are long, conspicuous, trumpet-shaped, with five petals, white to pink, red, purple or yellow, orange, 4 to 15 cm in size. The fruit is a capsule that contains several seeds in each locule.

This plant that has medicinal and cosmetic uses has a wide variety of therapeutic arsenal, its active ingredients that are found in greater quantities in its flowers as minerals including calcium, iron, nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as vitamin C, B1 and B2 , and contains flavonoids such as keratin and beta-carotene.
