Colorchallange Thursday - Green Opal under UV

in colochallenge •  6 years ago

A couple years ago I bought an amazing collection of phosphorescent and fluorescent minerals, along with a couple of uv lights. Been admiring their radiance ever since. ;)

This is hyalite opal under short-wave UV.

This is fluorescence. This piece doesn't phosphorus very well. If anyone has interest I could do an example of fluorite and if I can get my light to work I can show for different color phases white light short-wave UV and long-wave UV and then phosphorescence as it glows after turn the lights off.

This is what it looks like under regular light.

Regretfully, I couldn't get my long-wave UV light to work, so only have the 2.
