At a peaceful intersection along Evans Gulch up in Leadville's historic mining district, a good ways past the place where the plows turn around, there stands a wooden sign marking the location of Evansville, an old mining town that leveled up to ghost many moons ago.
At the same intersection there also stands a metal sign marking the location of Lake County Road 38. As you can see, it’s so shot full of bulletholes and wrecked that the county had to put up a second metal sign that you can actually read. For now, at least.
I love how peaceful it is around here.
Nice!
