ColorChallenge Saturday - Indigo - "Resting Life" hand painted Mandala

in colorchallege •  7 years ago

I painted this 24 x 24 inch acrylic painting for a patron that wanted something with dark blues, purples and greys, along with touches of pastel greens. She also wanted me to add some gold and silver, and to use some metallic paints for added flare. She likes the way metallic paint changes throughout the day as the light coming in her living room window changes angles. It took me close to 120 hours.

They work as well as Rorscharch's test, no? I definitely can see an owl in that one ! :P

You;re not the first one "hoo hoo" said that! I see the owl too but it wasn't on purpose lol

This is amazing, I don't know how you have the patience for doing this, really awesome!

Thank you:)People often ask me how I have the patience, but it's simple - I love what I do! People who work for 40+ hours a week for years at jobs they hate are the ones who really have patience lol

Well that is a very good way of putting it! My dad is an artist and creates amazing life like art, and I sit down and try and do something similar and it goes down the abstract path as I get impatient! So I still admire your dedication!
