In the Romanian folk tradition, May is also called (Florar) - Florist.
According to Wikipedia, the name of May (Latin: Maius) comes from the majores name given by Romulus to Romans senators.
A Romanian saying says: May is Heaven ... meaning Heaven descends to earth and awakens nature to life, everything getting green.
