ColorChallenge WednesdayYellow - Verbascum Sinuatum.

August in Portugal is very, very hot and very dry. Not many things bloom and whatever did bloom already managed to drop the seeds for next year and die off.
My August folder is full of those DryStuff and those yellow flowers. I dunno how they manage! They are one of very few that don't seem to mind the hot weather and lack of water.
(But why every wildflower now is yellow?)

This is Verbascum Sinuatum also known (or not) as Wavyleaf mullein. I do not have photos of the leaves. It was so hot that I stopped thinking rationally.
But just look at that bright yellow colour and some purple fuzz inside. Aren't they pretty?

This plant is native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region and likes sunny, rocky and sandy spots. And that exactly where I found it - near the bay where the soil is very sandy!

I swear I didn't see that crab spider there until I got the photos on the pc and zoomed to look at the flowers.. and then BOOM! Spider! He really scared the **** out of me :p
