Color Challenge - Friday Blue - Mt. Chachani, Peru

in colorchallenge •  7 years ago

One of the pinnacle moments of my life was the act of standing atop a 6,057 m (19,872 ft) tall peak. In 2011 my wife @stryeyz and I went to Peru for 2 weeks. During the second week we were in Arequipa for the primary reason of climbing Mt. Chachani. The experience will be another post unto itself as it was a life changing event for me. Suffice it to say that the blue of the sky that day has few comparisons in my experience.

I can't even imagine the pure awe you must have felt standing there. What an amazing experience! There's something about mountains that calls to my soul.

I actually wept on top of the mountain. I really did not want to leave the summit and it took a large effort on my part to actually start moving down hill.

I was just in Valhalla Provincial Park in BC Canada yesterday and it was one of the more "soul filling" days I have had in a long time. Giant granite monoliths in a big cirque.

Oh my, that sounds amazing! I would love (and need to) get back to the mountains again soon! I can't get enough of them.

Thats awesome!! Congratulations!!
