JAUNDICE? What's that?

in colorchallenge •  7 years ago

Today is wednesday, that means YELLOW in the #colorchallenge.

So, I would like to talk you about jaundice, do you know what is it? It is the yellow discoloration of the skin, mucous membranes and the whites of the eyes, and it's caused by increased amounts of bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a yellow compound from the daily natural breakdown and destruction of red blood cells in the body.

The liver metabolizes and eliminates the bilirubin as bile. If occurs a problem in this normal metabolism and/or production of bilirubin, could appear jaundice.

Jaundice is a sign of a disease. So, if it ever happens to you, or someone you know, you should go and see the doctor.

Do you think this is a weird #colorchallenge post or would you like more posts like this one? Please comment down below what you think... Thanks!
