Brilliant Orange on a Grey Day

Morning Steemians. Today I have a photograph that actually benefited from a grey day. Hoorah!

The flat light really made these orange primroses stand out in the rain because, yes, it was raining!

I took the shot in the gardens of The Royal Pavilion in Brighton, last Sunday, with my Samsung A5.

What photographs do you think benefit from grey weather? All suggestions will be gratefully received as there seems to be no shortage of it at present. 😂

Wow the orange and purple look good together on the upper left part. Nice shot!

Thank you @jacinta.sevilla. I didn't notice the purple until you mentioned it. 😁

Awww hehe first thing i noticed hehe ♥️😘 you're welcome

Nice striking orange. Grey weathers perhaps suitable for the fungus?

Thank you @kimzwarch. That's probably very true! 😁

Very beautiful flowers!

Thank you @amalinavia. There are lovely! 😊

I think those flowers are colorful and bright enough to cheer up any day! I really like the combination of all the surrounding colors, too. Makes the orange pop out even more than if you had zoomed in on just the orange.

The rain gives them a different look or feel than they would normally have to, not quite as soft, but more like a shine. I think the more you look at it, the more detail you see, which is what you want in any great image, right? :)

I think I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time @glenalbrethsen. Glad you enjoyed the photograph and I agree those colours could cheer up any day! 😊

I was surprised at how much water had collected on the petals. It's easier to see in the photograph than it was in the gloomy light of day.

And yes, it's like most photographs I think, the more you look at it, the more detail you see.

Have a lovely day! I'm winding down here. 😁

I'm in the same boat here in New England! Excellent capture of the primroses - we don't even have anything peeking out from the soil yet, so I envy you that.

However, silver lining (and since you asked), the pictures I've taken of brightly colored birds (Goldfinches and Bluebirds in particular) are definitely popping with color against the dismal background.

Here's to sunnier days for both of us!

This grey, dismal days story seems to be so prevalent lately @traciyork. Here's to sunnier days to all of us! 😁

It has to come soon, surely! 😍

@gillianpearce, It looks very beautiful. You managed to show the rain drops on the flowers. I think you shouldn't worry about the rain. Or maybe I'm just too easy on this. I think after winter, nature wakes up and washes his face. :)

It has been raining and grey for months now @madlenfox. I think nature must have completely washed her face away by now! 😂

Thanks for visiting! 😊

The water droplets are making a nice effect on the petals. Great way to counteract a grey day.

Thank you @headchange. The brightness of the flowers was a bit of a surprise and the water droplets an added bonus. Than you for visiting! 😊
