These photos were taken last summer when all the flowers around my backyard waterfall were in full bloom. I was following this butterfly around my garden trying to get some nice pictures of him. The butterfly was going flower to flower gathering nectar, then he stopped on a wet stone in the waterfall to have a drink of water.
Hard to get a picture of him. When you get close he takes off LOL.
I wish the foreground focused better on these pictures......
These purple flower attract so many butterflies and bubmlebees all summer long.
Last 2 pics are of him at a flower beside the purple pond flowers. It is called a Butterfly Weed or a Milk Weed and is a Zone 3 USDA Plant. It is the favorite of the monarch butterfly in particular.
All these picture were taken with a Canon Powershot D20. I am going to get a better camers soon.
