Color Challenge Friday Sky Blue Lake Michigan

This is a very magical place in Northern, Michigan. I spent many a day at this beach and sand dunes when I was in college in Traverse City.

Winds and Weather have changed the dunes, growing beach, losing beach. This is Lake Michigan, even though it looks like the ocean. One of my favorite power places to re boot and take in all the amazing striking blue colors that reflect from the water and skies there. I had a couple days of vacation and enjoyed it with several of my old college gals.

If you look closely you can see an island called North Manitou.

Many of the islands off the northern western side of the state have pristine in tact Eco systems, especially old growth Cedars that are up to 25 feet in diameter. No cars are allowed on most of these islands and they are protected nature preserves.

We had a wonderful time running up and down the 200 feet plus sand dunes that cascade down to the water with woods and trails all over the place.

If you ever get a chance to explore the northern western shore of Lake Michigan it will be well worth the trip.
Ernest Hemingway wrote many books while exploring the shores of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.
