Using Monday's Color Challenge to Exorcise my Feelings.

I woke up pretty depressed today due to my pain and isolation.

Most holidays are hard for me as I am isolated in a room and have been in too much pain for years to leave my home let alone travel. I decided to get some of these feelings out onto canvas when I saw that today's color was red and that suited my mood perfectly. It was rather hard to get a good capture of the abstract painting I made but here are some photos of it:

I cropped this one to be centered in the preview photo so below is the uncropped version.

It is so hard trying to get this photo to capture the painting at night but here is another photo:

Neither one really does it full justice to be honest. So, there is my color challenge for today. I am loving how much I can use the daily color challenge to my advantage. I used it as an exercise in overcoming my fear of spiders and now I am using it to express my pain. I used it to try a new art medium in the past. In general it gets me inspired. I just love the color challenge!

This is really good, it feels like a wound but it also feels sort of cosmic. It gives me a vibe of catharsis. Does it have a name?

Yes it was definitely a feeling piece. And you are pretty spot on. I didn't have fresh canvas so I was actually painting over a canvas that was going to be cosmic with red and wanted to express pain and blood but then realized I liked keeping the center bit and having it look a bit cosmic. :) No, no name. Most of my pieces lack names to be honest.

Names definitely aren't necessary; sometimes they can be insightful, but I think this piece provokes my imagination more without a name.

Yeah I feel that way with most of my work I guess. XD Some of it I plan to name but just don't get around to doing.

I can see the beauty in it. I love abstract art. I think that is the route my daughter is taking with her painting.

I usually don't do abstract but I have been doing some lately. I have two on my wall right now. :) It is nice to branch out and abstract art feels really pure, and lets me get all my feelings out there.

Great Post!
I like it..continued success
