Color Challenge - Sunday Purple-Passiflora

in colorchallenge •  8 years ago

In 1610 a picture of a flower Passiflora fell into the hands of the Italian historian and religious scholar Giacomo Bosio. He published a report in which he described the flower of passion as the embodiment of the passion of Christ. Three pistil stigmas symbolized the nails that nailed the feet and hands of Christ. The outer corona represented the crown of thorns, the stamens— the five wounds... the Glands found on the back of the sheet, was said to represent the thirty pieces of silver received by Judas for the betrayal. These comparisons gave rise to the name of the plant Passiflora, from the Latin "passio" suffering, and "flos" flower.

I wish you a good mood !!!
