This is Assateague Island, Maryland. A beautiful barrier island about 37 miles long near the Maryland/Virginia border. We were in Ocean City, Maryland and drove to Assateague for several hours. Ponies, birds, exploring and the beach are just the beginning.
This bridge, the Verrazano Bridge takes you right onto the island.
