Severe Thunderstorms approaching the area, took this photo with my iPad looking above the tree line. We have had some really bad storms this summer! Just up the road a large oak fell onto some cattle sheltering under its branches killing a few.

The photo turned out better than expected. This poor man has been a rancher all of his life. This year the lightening has chased the poor cows on more than one occasion. Slow to get back to you Kiligirl , but I am here.

Gee, we have scary lightning here but it's rare to hear of cattle being killed. Sad for your rancher friend. It's so hard to think how the people of Houston, Mumbai and Bangladesh could possibly rebuild. The level of s'entraide (people helping each other) in Houston has been deeply heartening.
We are so blessed here in Johannesburg with excellent weather, although the really poor people who live in shacks they've made themselves near rivers are at high risk when it rains as flash flooding is a problem here. They are also at risk for runaway fires as many use paraffin for lighting and it's just not that safe a fuel.

There is a beauty to storm clouds here in Florida, it gets so dark. The lightening can be really severe and quite scary. We are lucky our 70 lb boxer dog "Lola" isn't frightened by storms.🐓
