Here are a few attempts of mine to capture the elusive ”Indigo” in the Wild.
Not to be confused with the windigo…
A windigo (or wendigo) is a supernatural being belonging to the spiritual traditions of Algonquian-speaking First Nations in North America. Windigos are described as powerful monsters that have a desire to kill and eat their victims. In most legends, humans transform into windigos because of their greed or weakness. Various Indigenous traditions consider windigos dangerous because of their thirst for blood and their ability to infect otherwise healthy people or communities with evil. Windigo legends are essentially cautionary tales about isolation and selfishness, and the importance of community.
Hmmm…. Seems like an appropriate allegory of some sort. I will have to do another post about the Windigo.

I can always find Blue and I can always find Violet but I have a problem with indigo. Somewhere in the middle between Blue and Violet.
Here are some photos of several storms approaching from the West on Lake Superior … out there on the Horizon is Thunderbay… it’s where all the storms come from.
Too blue ?
Too Violet ?
Indigo is supposed to be the colour of a Blueberry. But there is much variation in the blueberry… it seems more like a denim colour to me ??
This a blueberry buckle (Streusel ? Crumble ?) that my wife baked yesterday … it’s almost gone …. the blueberries look purple when cooked.
The sun came out today … the water looks almost indigo here. But I added some “vibrancy” with my iPhone. I guess that’s cheating.
Here is @lolabear waiting patiently to go for a swim …. The water here looks indigo too.
We will be on the lookout for the Windigo while we are swimming …
