Hey dear gardener,
this form of carrots are caused by a ground that is to solid.
Carrots are tap-rooting plants that need a soft ground, else the roots can't go deeper.
Stones, wood pieces, ... mostly the reason for it.
Maybe pick another grow spot next time. :-)
Not all carrots in my garden are like on the photo. Basically, all vegetables are smooth and flat, but come across such instances)
