Greetings!

Since today's color challenge is orange, I am taking this opportunity to post these cool photos of bright orange star fish!

One of many living star fish we found this day; you can also see there is a bonus ORANGE pocket knife in the background!

This was a really fun day. On the beaches of Ecuador the tide was going out, and we found lots of star fish. This was the first time my girls have ever seen star fish, and we got to get an up close and personal feel for their unique character.

Star Fish doing their moves!

They are very hard and rough like sand paper. They have all these little tentacles that they use to crawl across the ocean floor. You can get a really good view of them in the video at the end. Its kinda creepy but kinda cool!

When they die they get very light weight and stiff and also lose their color if not preserved. They become super fragile and delicate.

As you can see while traveling through South America scouting land, I was still promoting Steemit with my custom hand painted Steemit Fashion Line! This is one of my favorite Steemit caps I have made. If you want to invest in the greater success of Steemit and your success, be sure to get some Epic Steemit Gear!

Here is a video of the wiggling star fish where you can really see how those tentacles work! COOL!

May I ask why?

I'm so grateful for orange Tuesday! I'm getting to see these awesome photos I've never seen before. What a beautiful moment to share in the magnificence of nature. Incredible @quinneaker.

Grateful to share, especially with you!

<3 Ahhh...what a blessing! <3

We are blessed~*~

<3
Not quite is impressive but <3 non the less hehehe =)>

I wonder how long they can survive out of the water, we see them at our local beach in the rocks that often dry out at low tide. They are very beautiful. Great post.

I have seen them live for 15-20 minutes out of the water. Not exactly sure how long they can live, probably depends on the moisture levels. If they dry out they probably die.

I'm going to have to go investigate, I'm curious now.

hahahahah Excellent!
Let me know what u find ;-)>

Will do!

I have a feeling that they shouldn't be out of their natural habitat for too long. True, they can survive low tide ~ But then they usually head for the shade of a rock.

No rocks on this beach, they probably just crawl and wash back with the low tide as it goes to stay in the water.

They are very beautiful!

What do they feel like? Are they jelly-like or what? I've only held dried out ones. They're fascinating.

They are hard and rough like sand paper. The tentacles are kinda creepy....

I love especially the second pic!

Thanks!

Such an amazing looking creature, I bet that was so much fun!

Indeed it was!
