Last month I went up to Rosendale NY to visit a friend who moved there last summer. Behind her house there are a lot of walking paths, including one that goes over an old irrigation/transportation canal. Now it's all grown over and decrepit, but you can walk across the bridges still. This shot is taken from one of these bridges looking straight down into a patch of skunk cabbage.
They look small in this picture, but the biggest one is easily 2 feet across.
