Rio Tinto, Spain River ColorChallenge Monday

in colorchallenge •  7 years ago

Rio Tinto, a southwestern river in Spain, flows from Sierra Morena's mountains to Cadiz Bay. Since about 3000 BC, the high acidity of the river (pH 2), which may be a byproduct of precious metal mining in that area, will be red from the dissolved iron ore floor.
