My first Alec's Red rose of the year! Growing by the power of banana peels and bathwater, this rose does not disappoint.
Now zooming out to what the whole garden actually looks like:
A bit dry and crunchy. It's a cloudy day and we had a couple of drops this morning but it evaporated very quickly.

Pragtige roos, het gehoor piesang skille is goed vir rose! Sjoe julle het reen sooo nodig, Durban se opvang gebiede blykbaar ook, maar ten minste kry die tuin genoeg reen water.

Ja dit werk soos n bom. Ek kan dit regtig aanbeveel. Partykeer sny ek die piesang skille met n skêr in stukkies sodat dit nie lyk asof iemand n skil in die tuin weg gegooi het nie :) Hierdie spesifieke roos is n Hybrid Tea genaamd 'Alec's Red' deur Ludwig Tashner. Dis n eetbare roos en ek is lief daarvoor om n roos stroop te kook uit die blomme. Dis baie lekker in melk 🙂

Dis vreemd om te dink Durban ly droogte met al die vloede wat julle die afgelope tyd gehad het. Die water is daar, net onbruikbaar. Of die reën val oor die see soos hier by ons.

Ek dink die reen was nie genoeg by die damme nie, moes in die hoër gebiede gereen het, te veel wat hier geval het, het in die see weggespoel! Ons was ook verbaas toe ons dit hoor. Lekker dag vir jou Lizelle :)
