I am a member of Vilnius running club and this May we had a training camp in Pervalka. Pervalka is a small town in Curonian spit.

On Friday evening 27 members of club packed their stuff and traveled west, towards Lithuania seaside. Collor challenge picture was captured on ferry from Klaipėda to Smiltynė. This picture was a sigh that weekend will be great. We reached our destination a bit late. Sun was already going down so we only had a dinner and decided to walk to the beach of Baltic sea. After short walk we were amazed by the sea view. Camera can not restore that view. 18557180_1466913589996368_1068955533862505402_n.jpg

Saturday was a sports day. Usually members of Vilnius running club have long-runs on Saturday. That Saturday was not an exception so about 10 a.m. we started running towards Nida (14 km). Nobody expected it to be so hot, especially when we had some snow a few weeks earlier. On 10:30 a.m. it was about 24°C. In Nida we had a meeting and plank challenge with a Mayor of Neringa.![18582059_1675973922416082_1191187376956867222_n.jpg](

Some of the club members continued their long-run by running back to Pervalka and other took cars back. Later that day we did some orienteering. That was one of funniest parts as most of the club members never did orienteering and reading a map was not so easy. Professional orienteer finished first and did 7.4 km. Me and my colleague finished third and did 10.4 km. So on Saturday I did 24.4 km. To compare usually I do 30-40 km per week. After Saturday dinner we decided to climb a high dune near Preila to watch sunset. While we were climbing the weather changed dramatically. Temperature dropped bu 12°C in 1 hour and massive fog started. So a view from the dune to sea looked like this.

Sunday morning was clear again. After breakfast we packed our bags and went to beach. We spend a few hour here playing dodgeball. Sea was so cold that it was immpossible to spend even a minute in it. P_20170521_110252.jpg

Then we went back to Klaipėda to participate in Vilties bėgimas (Hope run). Hope run is a running event organised by Franciscans to support St. Francis Oncology Center in Klaipeda. 18 Members participated in 5 km run. What is the most incredible that after such an intensive weekend 16 of 18 beat their 5 km personal best time.

And finally that was the end of thin awesome weekend.
Happy steeming!
