The origin and history of coffee dates back to the 10th century and possibly earlier with a number of reports and legends surrounding its first use.

There are a lot of legends about coffee!

There, legend says the goat herder Kaldi first discovered the potential of these beloved beans.

The story goes that that Kaldi discovered coffee after he noticed that after eating the berries from a certain tree, his goats became so energetic that they did not want to sleep at night.

Kaldi reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery, who made a drink with the berries and found that it kept him alert through the long hours of evening prayer. The abbot shared his discovery with the other monks at the monastery, and knowledge of the energizing berries began to spread.

Also, A legend about the origin of coffee says that Muhammad, one day while he felt very badly, was helped from Archangel Gabriel which brought to Muhammad a relief potion sent directly from Allah. The drink was dark as the Holy Black Stone of Mecca (commonly called qawa): Muhammad drank it and suddenly revived and started again for new enterprises.

Obiouvsly these are just legends, the only certainty is that there is always time for a coffee!
