A few days ago I found something I never seen before , purple carrots. Here in South Africa we are used to only seeing orange carrots. So I when onto the internet to see if purple carrots are natural. Well I found out that they really are.
Carrots are native to Afghanistan then sent to the Mediterranean , around a thousand years ago. It was much later around 1300s orange carrots reached Europe and China . But purple, yellow, red, and white varieties were for some reason where left behind in Asia and the Middle East.
