Spring has finally arrived here in what I kept referring to as the Frozen North only a few weeks ago. Finally, the snow has melted away and has given room for nature to bloom. And how it has exploded in a fantastic bloom this year. Usually, blooming starts with a few snowdrops. Then the crocuses arrive, then a third kind of flower. This year, they all seem to explode into life simultaneously! As the snow was so late in leaving, they all now seem like they’re just bursting with exitement coming alive.
These are happy days for us Norwegians, having seen a white, frosty landscape for months, the burst of colours is a long awaited joy. We appear out of our cave-like existences, squinting with groggy eyes. Greeting our neighbours, having lived only meters apart but not having seen eachother for months. Everything seems so positive, the opportunities seem endless. Spring is my favorite time of year, and here are some flowers I found in my garden earlier today.
