Roomstyler Lesson 4: Painting and decorating

in coloring •  6 years ago

Welcome to the Roomstyler tutorials. In these Lessons I’m making an interior design of a simple old house. In the previous videos we created the room up till this point. Let’s go to the edit mode and today we will cover the decorate tool and change the looks of our floors, walls and ceiling. Click the decorate icon, the third one in the list. You’ll see a list of material categories. We’ll start with the paint section. With this tool you can choose any plain color that you want. You can drag this blue rectangle to pick a color range. And then below you can pick any color and you can just simply click and drag this color and release it on an item you want to color. Let’s color a wall section. Let’s check out our 3D photo… And there you go! We have a yellow wall section. Let’s go back.

And for the sake of demonstration I’ll just go and paint everything yellow that you can. I’m going to paint all the walls at once by releasing on top of this icon. I’m gonna paint a floor. And the floor in the other room. You can also paint the ceiling, using the other icon in the top. And you can color every door and window. That’s it. Let’s take another photo and indeed, we have some kind of overkill of yellow at this moment so let’s go back and now I’ll finish the house the way I want it. First I’ll paint the doors and windows back to white… that’s done. and now I want some wood on my floor and on my ceiling. In Roomstyler, the material direction is fixed. So if I want to have horizontal planks on my ceiling, I need to pick a texture in the same direction. I want some white wooden planks like these. I click and drag them and release them on the decorate ceiling icon. And on my floor I want a different wooden texture, more greyish.

And finally, let’s put some wallpaper on the walls. I’m going back to all categories… I select wall paper and now, let’s search for a subtle light grey wall paper. Yeah, this one’s nice. I'll use that for all the walls. And now I want a mint-green wallpaper on the walls facing the camera... This one! Let’s take another 3D photo. Okay, that’s more like it! Well, let me explain one more thing: If you want to find back a material that you used previously, go to the fourth icon and click on “Room Materials”. and there you get a list of materials that are actually used. So far lesson 4. Please subscribe for more lessons on using Roomstyler. Thanks for watching, bye!
