Color Challenge Today - the infinitely blue sky

in colorphotography •  7 years ago  (edited)

I remember taking this photo while being jostled to and fro aboard a truck on an a dirt road going to a distant barrio in the mountain (I'll about that separately)

It had been almost 30 minutes already and I was baking in the sun when I saw our guide's shadow.

Photography is all about timing even in this day and age of digital photography. Having an eye to anticipate and capture a frame in time forever freezing that moment.

I saw his hand move and tried my best to capture it as it covered the sun but alas this was the closest I got.

In retrospect I should have done a burst shot but given I was being fried and I still have that old, old mentality I got from taking photos using film of waiting for that exact moment stopped me from utilizing it. I have heard the arguments to both side from purist and digital photographers and at times I go with the purists on waiting but secretly want to follow digital photograpers and do burst.

Anyway sharing with you this not so perfect moment of an infinitely blue sky.

Never thought of using burst also. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah I should change my mindset as well and do burst shots. Hopefully its a trick this old dog can learn to do haha

Soulful. Simple, neat...yet full of emotions. Beautiful photo @maverickinvictus !

Thanks! I always look forward to your posts.

This is very neat as friend @bloghound says. What is the difference between digital photographer and purist? I just met both classes of photographers today. hehee.

I have some friends who refuse to go digital as they are still using printed film SLR and lomos. They use rolls and rolls of film from Quiapo.
Then we have those that embraced technology and went to the DSLR. They have so many SD cards because they shoot to an almost a thousand frames. Endlessly clicking.
I was in a bind when these two sets of groups debated on who was producing better images.
Each has their own merits though.

wow nice one

Thanks so much!

''Having an eye to anticipate and capture a frame in time forever freezing that moment.-maverickinvictus'' . PRECISELY ! taking best shot that will last forever does not depend on any digital advancement in photography... It is all about the eye of a good appreciator :)

True but a lot of the skill and experience can be done with filters and apps.
I am amazed with those with talent.

Yes your right, but i cant afford financially and physically to get involved with that kind of mastery. As for now Im just gonna stick with my old android phone and appreciate others wokrs too :) BTW nice shot!

Nice shot! The sky was pretty clear and very blue. so beautiful, thanks for sharing..

Thanks I like this photo too

😊

Nice shot.

It could have been better if the hand was blocking the sun but I like it's imperfection.
