Vines, Vines!

Everywhere There's Vines!

Blockin' out the scenery, climbin' my mind
Climb this, don't touch that, can't you see the vines?!

This one grows every year.
I cut it, and yet, here,
from the second story deck,
it sits growing again.

love seeing it, even though I know it might be trouble

If this photo was made recently, then I do not know what the vine is. However, if this photo was made this past autumn, the vine is likely a Virginia Creeper — genus: Parthenocissus, two species possible, depending on how the vine clings to surfaces. The vine is green during spring & summer, but turns orangish color in the fall. This stuff is all over the place down here and is a very aggressive vine, growing across the ground and tripping the unwary walker as well as climbing any available surface. Hate the stuff. It is mildly irritating to handle, too, not as bad as poison ivy, but still itchy for some folks.

Aside from that, it is a lovely color! Great catch!

It's green springtime. then turns yellow, then orangish, then bright red but end of August.
