"Deciduous beech (Nothofagus gunnii), or fagus, as it is best known, is Australia's only cold climate winter-deciduous tree and is found nowhere else in the world except Tasmania. It has a magnificent autumn display."

During my walk at Cradle Mountain, we came across quite a few Fagus trees, as they greatly stood out among the others. I hadnt known then that it was particularly unique.
The leaves ranging room a lime green, to lemon yellow and golden orange.
