NEVER EVER ask for upvotes in a comment. It's a big NO-NO on Steemit. The comment option is for genuine comments on the post, and generally are submitted with an upvote.
Steemit is a great platform and will grow even better when people use it in the correct way.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Hate speech or trolling
