Gilgit Culture in Pakistan

in colourfullphotography •  7 years ago

In Traditional Pakol or Gilgiti Cap with feather or quill hanged over it.The quill is not man made rather it is the feather of duck locally known as “mindakh”. This feather is the old tradition of the people of Hunza but now this cap with feather has been popularized as the Gilgiti Cap.Interestingly, wearing this Pakol is very common in the areas of Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Swat and in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir particularly in AJ&K.
