Colourful Photography - Sea Glass Project

_DSC9039.jpg

I have this old table. Round, metal, about two feet in diameter (2/3 of a meter). The top is, or rather, was tile insert. Over time, the tile and cement has cracked, and only a handful of tile is left. I also have dozens of bags of sea glass (or beach glass) collected.

I am thinking of getting some of that Art Resin, and trying my hand at an Acrylic Resin mold of the sea glass inside the table top. Pics, to follow, if it turns out correctly.

I love collecting sea glass! That's a nice little collection you have there. Yes! Please show us your progress. I know I want to do something with my seaglass just hasn't come yet. Looking forward to seeing how it comes out.

...working on researching the resin, and silicone mold for the top.

beautiful photo. That glass would look so cool on a table top!

I hope so!

I thought I was reading intro and your art would be below 😅

Sea glass? Is that human's trash or people put it on purpose?

I live in a small town where most of our beach only have sand, pieces of coral, snails or conch... And those are my only collections from beach.

Mostly trash or broken glass that the ocean has tumbled in the shore front sand.
Ships carried either large boulders, or sometimes glass slag as ballast. Some ships had large prisms to direct light. Glass bottles discarded by people. All these become bits of sea glass, over time in the tumbling waves.

It's dangerous, someone can get hurt.

It sounds like a really cool project, I'd love to see the result. Following.

I can't wait!

I'd be interested to see how the table top comes out :)

You and me both, Andy.
I hope it works out. I decided to do a test casting of the acrylic. Hope it works.

I'm wicked swooning over all that sea glass! I used to have a big box of it, but it disappeared during one of our moves. Can't wait to see the table - bet it turns out gorgeous!

OH, dear... sorry it's all lost.
But, yeah, I do love my collections!
