I love visiting the middle Age festivals which takes place from time to time here in Linz. Every summer there is at least one Middle Age festival. This weekend it's time and the Middle Age Festival will take place again in Linz, and i am already looking forward to see the colorful woman and knights that can be seen there. Along with exhibition fights and nice food and nice honey wine. Of course i will be visiting this place with my new camera for some street and maybe action photography. I hope the weather will be fine and i can get some nice shots. Unfortunately i need to carry some different lenses with me to catch the various scenes that will be present there.

Along with still shots and maybe some portraits i plan to do some action shots of the fights that take place there every time. I am also looking forward to tournaments on horses for some action photography. I am pretty sure i'll get some nice shots if i have a good place for photographing the scene. Because most of the people wear very colorful clothes there it will be also a very interesting day to take some exceptional portrait shots.

Of course you'll be able to watch several handcrafts and balcksmiths doing their work directly on the festival. This took place at the castle of Linz in the last years and i am pretty sure it will be present this weekend also. It was pretty exciting to watch a blacksmith creating a sword out of a piece of iron only with the power of his muscles and a hammer. The middle Age festival is a nice festival especially for children and families. Thats why you'll find families with smaller children all over the place. But also a lot of older people are interested in old tradition and in dressing in old style which is still very popular on festivals like these.

I love taking detail shots of old clothes and accesoires that the knights and the girls carried in this time because they are pretty colourful this makes these clothes so happy and bright. Along with the knights and the burgfreulein i will experience a lot of old and traditional music from the middle age. My Stepbrother did sword fighting some years ago and he was pretty fascinated about this kind of sport. To me it is a little bit to brutal but showfights like you'll experience on the middle age festival look very nice every time.
