#ColourfulPhotography: The life of a journalist leaves little else

I'M guilty!!!

My daily number of posts has decreased slightly and although I am at fault, and although I am so sorry, I am also super inundated at work.

I'm not only the journalist at our local newspaper but, surprisingly, I also manage the advertising aspect of the paper which, believe you me, can be quite daunting at times.

This is a prime example. My inbox as at 5.56pm today:

Honestly, I'm not even in the mood at the moment to open another email.

We're talking about gas and oil exploration along our coastline - a big 'no-no' among our locals.
We've got the casual armed robbery and vehicle theft - standard in South Africa and never front page news anymore unlike in other countries.
And then, the highlight of my weekend - a colour run.

'Oh, wow a colour run and not blood and guts,' you might say. You get over it real quick, seriously you do.

It's not my best photo but we have to keep some special ones for print - the rest will be up on our website at www.southcoastherald.co.za in a few days, perhaps sooner.

In the meantime, bear with me as we are also implementing a completely new layout in this week's newspaper - don't get me started on layout!

Especially since we run a modular layout which basically means everything gets done manually as opposed to things being done for you.
