@steamdan, you have a skill for picking good flowers to grow in your climate, and giving them a good space to thrive. The colors on this one are just popping off the page.
Your writing is very easy to understand. Steepshot probably forces you to keep it brief and to the point, so quality word choice definitely matters, doesn't it?
Does this flower have a scent or attract bees?

Aye @creativetruth. Thank you for your kind comments and upvotes! I don't want to sound too spiritual, but I literally haven't picked most of my plants. I do believe they were put in my path for this reason though. These guys are from a commercial bag of seeds I received as a gift. Actually, there were two bags of wild flowers seeds grown in farms; one from Oklahoma and the other one from Texas. I got them more than 3 years ago, and after all of this entire time, only few of the species have finally acclimated to this tropical but dry weather and soil. It hasn't been easy, but I'm definitely super happy with these results! I also have an endless supply of seeds now, which is what I was attempting through continous research and testing. I still have plants that haven't blossomed and many others I haven't connected the names to the lists in their bags. There were more than 80 species within the two bags and hundreds of seeds, I believe some didn't even make it to germinate, and one kind of reached its height but instead of flowering it dried to death. At the moment there are only 4 or 5 of these 80+ on which I have been completely succcesful adapting them to my climate.
As you can see, I'm relying more on my photos than my words. I find it hard to elaborate any form of text (and you would say "you what?") but at the same time I'm taking lots of what I think are very beautiful photographs to amazing flowers and nature in general. I just don't want to waste this opportunity to show off my inventory's full stock. This cosmos isn't photoshoped or anything, this is the way it looks, with the different stripes or shades of goldenish orange. Althought these cosmos are seen throughout South America, where I live the drought is much stronger and the weather isn't capable to sustain by itself entire cycles of these types of plants.
I really thank you for taking the time to check my plants out. It means a lot to me to be able to share my workplace. I'm also watching new types of bees and wasps around, even hummingbirds! I think I only have maybe a couple of scented flowers, but these ones don't have a scent, or maybe they do but not really a strong one.
Because I know you enjoy bonus pics, I will leave here a sneak peek on a macro shot of this flower. It sure looks like a feast for the bees. Cheers!
