Bright Beltane Blessings

in colourfulphotography •  7 years ago

As we celebrate the passing of winter and offer a greeting to Summer, it's nice to acknowledge such a festive marking of time through our own Beltane celebration. For me this involves spending time outdoors, exploring, listening and observing everything going on around me.

“We too can begin a new life, one that brings satisfaction and enrichment, whether this is by singing, dancing, running through the waves, walking barefoot on the grass or making love under the stars. Perhaps your dreams are greater than this, or perhaps more conservative, but whatever they are, Beltane is a wonderful time for expressing who you truly are.”
― Carole Carlton

I observed the flowers opening up to the sun.

I peeked at all the trees and shrubs to see their beautiful citrus green buds.

I sat beneath the sun and made a wreath ...

and quietly gazed upon the ever changing landscape that has become my home.

I found joy in examining the quirky and mysterious little growths around the garden.

I nibbled on things and ...

listened to the birds dancing and flirting. It looks as though one mother is preparing her nest.

Today feels warm and full of promise. Bright Beltane blessings to you all.

What wonderful photographs for a little celebrated holiday.

Thank you for it!

❀Thank you! ❀

The 1st of May is one of my favorite celebrations.

The first one I spent with my husband back in 1975, I hung the May basket on the door and he had to chase me. I was pretty fast back then and it took him a while!

Now, every year, he says, "I'm NOT chasing you!" Of course, at this point in time I'd be easy to catch as I can't run and he still can...

But I do love celebrating the day.

And as always, you've made a beautiful post!

I just love May day baskets. I think its a tradition that should be brought back. Such a lovely and romantic story. Thank you for sharing!

happy beltane walkerland! happy to see you out and about enjoying life :) that to me is what the heart of beltane is all about. breathing that fresh air, rejoicing in the return of life and beauty of fresh growth. much love

Happy Beltane and much love to you! (I fell asleep before dark again so apologies for the belated reply).

Beautiful as always. I love Beltane .. my son was born May 1 so its even more significant. I need a day on the earth! Its the opposite end of things here, but still its warm with blue skies and the earth calls....

A May 1st baby. How wonderful (all babies are wonderful of course) but that is delightful. Enjoy your very special day!

Beautiful photos! Its amazing the beauty that is surrounding us if only we take the time to look. ♥

oh ..I agree!! The best thing I ever did was to learn how to slow down and observe.

How I love the beauty and fragrance of daffodils @walkerland They always represent springtime to me and evoke happy childhood memories. Love your wonderful blog showcasing the various delights of nature. Following. (U & R )

Thanks so much!

the amazing flowers and branches have a great day

Thank you. :)

Blessings to you as well! Love the pretty springtime photos. Where is that nest tucked away--under the eaves of your cabin?

This one is on this cute little covered patio we have, near the house. Its my outdoor kitchen/whatever else :) There are others from last year under the eaves of the cabin - no one has move into them yet though. There's plenty of spring time dancing and flirting amongst the birds though. Its so fun to watch them.
