Colourful Hydrangea Flowers

Hydrangeas are usually white but as you see here they can also be blue, pink, purple or red. The soil that the hydrangeas are planted in determines their color.

Alkaline soils produce pink or red shaded flowers.

Acidic soils produce blue flowers.

    Your lovely photos reminded of me of when I was younger and was visiting my granparent's house. I'd lie on the slope of their basement hatchway and look at their purple hydrangea row. Thank you for reminding me! 🤗

                Blues and pinks now those are real pretty @whatisnew!
                How nice they line the windows, the big close up pink
                ones remind me of pom poms or nice big cotton candy
                balls, never got into poms lol
