Ime je dobio po tome što prkosi svim vremenskim neprilikama. Dobro podnosi sušu i uspeva na izuzetno siromašnom zemljištu.
Ovaj prkos je jednostrukog cveta.
Prkos spada u otporne baštenske biljke minimalnih zahteva.
Jedino što prkosu treba u neograničenim količinama je sunce.
