The baboon was fast and violent as could be in the partly flooded arena. But the alligator played the waiting game, conserving its energy until the baboon came within reach.
It was over quickly after that, with the alligator snapping it's jaws shut on the baboon and thrashing, turning itself over and over to disorient and further injure its opponent.

There was no way baboon could kill alligator. He could have outrun him, but no chance to even harm him. Alligators are famous for patience and that’s what paid off this time. Poor baboon! Congratulation to alligator!
