Gotta love that NPR is talking about Chappelle's white privilege.

Look, if you don't have a sense of humor, stay out of the comedy clubs, don't click on Netflix comedy specials, and definitely don't make a ass out of yourself by trying to critique it when your knowledge of how comedy works is limited to liking what doesn't hurt anybody's feelings.

Comedy is a process of taking the audience to a place where they don't want to go and making them happy that they went there. It's always risky and it's never going to work for everybody.

If you're "woke" fine, live a joyless life and keep pretending that you're thirty years-old and still entertained by knock-knock jokes. Comedy will never work with the woke mindset.

What's not fine is going further than even this author and calling for Netflix to take down the content. You can feel free to live your joyless lives; you, don't get to take the joy out of the lives of those of us who know how to laugh.
