Romaic Tragedy of Nara And I

in comedy •  7 years ago

You know how when we're young, we're so oblivious to people staring and criticizing our fashion sense. So was I, when I was 9. The story I’m about to present to you could he considered one of the most embarrassing incidents of my life and the funniest thing that you ever read. I was staying at my grandparent's place. At the time, there was a wedding in my grandma's neighborhood. So two days before the wedding, my grandma sewed me a brand new dress in which she didn't put any elastic belt. Now, when the day arrived, my grandma literally forced me to go and 'have a nice meal' there. (If you're a desi, you would know this). I donned the newly made clothes. I successfully slipped the shirt on but when it came to the shalwar (trouser), I realized that there's no belt in it. Now, to make matters easy and quick- while in reality she only made my upcoming hours worse- she put a Nara (a rope kind of band that is used by older man in Pakistan to hold the trousers around one's waist). I happily let her tie the band around my waist and didn’t bother asking her about the untying process of the NARA. I excitedly left the house. As soon I went there, I started playing with the kids and had super amazing meal. The only mistake I made, and a great one may I add, was that I drank almost 5 to 6 bottles of coke. Now the coke-drinking lead to need to piss. A strong need to piss. So I ran towards the toilet and settled myself on the seat and I successfully untied the bow of the NARA and well. But little did I know what happens next will bring a gigantic disaster. I peed, and felt extremely light. I stood up and pulled my trousers up but when I remembered my almost no knowledge about the tying of this band, I almost pissed in my pants again. I might be young but I too had some self-respect. Now when I couldn't figure out how to tie it, I started thinking about other options. When nothing came to mind, I held my shalwar (trouser) tight in my fists and literally sprinted back to my grandma's place, crying due to embarrassment.
