As our COMmunity continues to grow with many new talents coming and offering their comedy in different forms we at Comedy Open Mic would like to announce a new video category prize for videos. Whether a direct talk to the camera or sketches, Comedy Open Mic has received a sponsorship from @carlgnash, who would like to award our video entrants for their hard work with a weekly 15 SBD prizes giveaway.

The prize will be 5 SBD each to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in our brand new category: Best Original Comedy Video.
To be eligible for this award, the rules are the same as for our other prizes: upload your video using the comedyopenmic tag; don’t self upvote more othan $0.5; No bid bots. All of the video entries will be reviewed by the weekly Comedy Open Mic judges who will prepare a shortlist of the best videos, the top 3 spots, however, will be chosen by @carlgnash.
Those of you who don’t know Carl, he is a curator and reviewer for Curie, he will keep an eye out to see if any of the quality shortlisted entries meet Curie’s criteria or his own high standards and reward them accordingly.
All prizes will be sent out via @comedyopenmic.

I am super happy to sponsor this prize and really looking forward to seeing the judges' short list of video entries weekly. I will of course try to keep my eyeball on all the weekly entries into COM but my time is spread out pretty thin. When this contest started I was hoping to see more original video comedy, sort of the comedy equivalent of the (awesome) #openmic contest, and I am hoping this extra prize pool will help motivate people to make that a reality.
