CONFIRMED: Comey Decided He Wasn't Going to Refer Hillary For Prosecution Long Before FBI Investigation Was Over

in comey •  7 years ago  (edited)

According to new transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer then Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for prosecution long before ever interviewing key witnesses.

A comment from Ace of Spades

There are actually three scandals here.

The absurd lawlessness of not charging Hillary and many others for violations of the Espionage and Public Records acts - and publicly announcing this in a way that violated all accepted norms of FBI procedure AND completely misstated the relevant statute.

The process scandal noted here - conclusions before investigation.

The failure of any - any - FBI or other involved personnel to go public as whistle-blowers, or resign, or otherwise confirm what all intelligent outside observers knew to be a lawless farce.

The Iron Law of Bureaucracy will not be denied.

I think one of the reasons Hilary was never taken to prosecution is because taking her down would probably bring down a lot of people on the opposing side of the government as well. She has her tentacles well spread out and ready to grab anything trying to drown her.

Agreed.

I think that there are multiple corruption networks, and influences at work.

they might oppose each other as far as how to steal, or who gets what kickback, but they will band together to prevent any accountability whatsoever

I am holding out for a little optimism, in that Trump wants a lot of Establishment Republicans to lose office so that he can get in more Trumpian Republicans in, then he would go after Clinton.

I can hope and dream! He is smart, and I don't think he wants to completely burn everyone right now wen he has so few allies. It would make sense long term if that is his plan. It is what Iwould do at least.

I lean more and more to the kabuki theatre interpretation of his actions every day.

the DACA "revocation" is a joke.

Trump needs to call on the line, both LE and the military, to do it's job of protecting the Constitution and the citizenry of this country. Period.

If politicians and burrocrats get hurt during the process, so what?

I have just as much concern for the safety and prosperity of the Political Class as they do for the American citizen.
