The Walley Strategy

Note: this observation is based on something at another company, not the one I work at.

I'm not a manager so I don't have to delegate tasks, but I noticed a funny behavior.

There are the people who when you delegate them a task immediately have a very small blocking issue, that they either delegate back to the original requester or to another person.

Instead of having another task on their plate they immediately delegate to someone else. Usually the original person gets back and everything gets worked out. But there is so much downtime in the back and forth of communication.

The "Wallies" of the world, the George Costanza, always going to such great length to do as little as possible while appearing to be super motivated team cheerleader.

If you're not paying and their laziness doesn't negatively effect you, then they're really hilarious to watch.
