So, I love the old-school comicons: you know, the ones that have only comic books. Most of them nowadays are 90% pop culture, and a few comic books here and there. Today, I discovered a comicon that you'd see in the 90s. It was beautiful. There were about 12 comic vendors: displaying tons of books each. The biggest decision was how best to spend my hard earned cash. Here is what I ended up with:
And...
Both of these golden age beauties are LB Cole covers. He is definitely one of my favorite cover artists. The colors he chose are always vibrant. You can see them a mile away, they are a style all his own. These will both fit perfectly into my collection.
The vendor I bought these from had some of the most beautiful golden age books I'd ever seen. He had $1200 golden age book in his bins! Here is one that I stumbled upon, what was in the BIN!!
That book was listed for $4000, but look at it. I couldn't find a single flaw except maybe a little grime on the spine (that would probably clean off).
This is what it's all about: finding great books for a price that you're comfortable paying. I'm very happy with the books I got and the price I paid. There were so many comics there that I wanted, and ultimately I walked away with something that made me happy.
Thanks for checking out my comic blog. Resteem if you like it, so I know that there is actual interest in what I'm putting my time into.
