OK, first of all I can't explaine how excited I am to get this news today, with any chance of a sequel to the film Dredd being kicked into the long grass I thought Judge Dredd would end in limbo. Now most comic fans are all Marvel and the other American one but British comics have just as rich a history. I grew up in the 70's and beyond reading British comics and 2000AD was, and still is one of the best. Not only Judge Dredd but Slaine, Strontium Dog, Halo Jones and Rogue Trooper to name a few were far darker and gritty than the American comics I got passed over to read.
Now while I like and watch the American comic books adaptations it's the British comic stories I grew up with that I want to see brought to life on television or in movies. There is a Stronium Dogs fan film being released to youtube later this month as well as a Slaine the Horned God fan film trailer and the Judge Minty fan film but I want to see some big budget stuff hitting my screen.
The Judge Dredd Mega City One TV series is some way off hitting the screens but it's something to look forward to.
