Hi there all,
My name is Darren (DC) Fisher and I’m into drawing and writing, and my great passion is a medium that combines these all together comics. I’m currently in the final stages of a Doctorate of Visual Arts at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. As part of it I made daily diary comics for just over two years, heres a small selection. This one is about my struggles with meditation, using copic markers and ink pen on card.
This one is a triptych about the Christmas weekend, watercolours and gauche on watercolour paper, with digital lettering and corrections in Photoshop.
This one is the final diary comic I made, using watercolours and ink pen on watercolour paper, then digital lettering and addition of foreground branches in Photoshop. This one took about a day to complete all up.
In my spare time I run the independent comics anthology Ashcan and the annual online 24 Hour Comic Challenge, as well as teach film theory, visual storytelling, concept design and illustration at the Queensland College of Art.
