Who or what is Carnage? #1

Although Venom is the showcase image of symbiotes from the Marvel universe, there are some who get much more fan-love than our black slimy head-face. One of these more popular symbiotes is Carnage. A red beast that takes all the characteristics of Venom and travels them to the absolute extreme.

Who is this psychopathic murderously brutal symbiote named Carnage?
What can he do and what makes him special?

But first we should clarify what these symbiotes are and what role they play in the Marvel universe. The symbiote around Venom belong to the extraterrestrial race of the Klyntar, which were created billions of years ago at the beginning of the universe by a deity called Knull. Knull used them to conquer whole worlds and slaughter Celestials by means of a swarm intelligence network of amorphous beings. Knull established himself as the nexus of the swarm intelligence, serving as their commander. However, he was beaten after he wanted to conquer the earth and loosed against Thor.

As a result, Knull's connection to the symbiotes was so badly damaged that some were looking for new hosts to find meaning in their lives. In this philosophical way the symbiotes brought along certain characteristics of their hosts like self-confidence and honour, which poisoned the swarm intelligence and then led to a rebellion against Knull.

These symbiotes later locked their creator in the core of a planet of the Andromeda galaxy and named themselves and the planet after a word for cage in their language - Klyntar. From then on the Klyntar took to heart to spread peace and benevolence across the galaxy and burned and banned anyone from their midst who degenerated into brutality or other aggressive behavior. These included some relatives of the Klyntar. They were chased away.

Unfortunately this in the exiled relatives of the symbiotes conquering whole planets and damaging the reputation of the Klyntar so much that they were soon only known for these aggressive and brutal characteristics. They got the call to live parasitically on the host's body, and the host eventually died. Whereby this is not quite correct. The corrupted and related symbiotes approached the adrenaline and hormone in their hosts and forced them to more and more violent and blatant actions until they were killed either by exhaustion or by a failed action. This extreme brought the feeling of hunger to the symbiotes and they made their hosts eat meat and forced them into cannibalistic acts. Actually, the symbiotes didn't need this meat at all, because they were fed enough hormones, but it was like a drug for them, which led them to extreme.

Klyntar can reproduce themselves in two ways. The one is that they can hatch from an egg on their home planet or any Klyntar, a symbiote, can reproduce asexually without the need of a partner. Each symbiote can only have one child in its life. The child then often carries the abilities of his father or mother or what ever they are, and some extras and so we come to Carnage.

Carnage is the 999th descendant of a symbiote which originated directly from Venom. After Venom, the symbiote, was considered dead, the host Eddie Brock was imprisoned in a high security prison for normal people. There he meets Cletus Kasady, who is his cellmate, a psychopathic serial killer who was sentenced to life in prison.

However, Venom was anything but dead. He was alive but slept in the body of his host. After a while he woke up again in Eddie Brock and together they broke out of their cell. But when he reawakened in Eddie Brock, Venom gave birth to the 999th descendant of his symbiote bloodline. But he didn't seem to notice this or to have forgotten it in a hurry, because he left the new symbiote back in the cell when he broke out. In the cell where the psychopathic serial killer Cletus Kasady was sitting.
