Why We Have The Second Amendment

The gun argument... so many are asking why people need to own guns. It not about hunting bunnies and deer. Although we should be able to provide food if necessary. It’s the POWER of the PEOPLE to protect themselves from the FORCE of the STATE.

There’s history. Look up what happens to unarmed citizens. Government, government wannabes, or THE STATE, is the leading cause of death and destruction in our world.

Yes, kids shooting up schools is a terrible tragedy. Is it a gun issue or a mental health issue?

But, it’s this kind of political thinking that illustrates why The Second Amendment is a necessity. Politicians that want to ride roughshod over the U.S. Constitution, as demonstrated by this proposed legislation.

“The president’s power to pardon is granted by Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution, which provides: “The President … shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.” - Work cited https://www.thoughtco.com/presidential-pardons-legal-guidelines-4070815

“The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides, "No person shall … be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb." This provision, known as the Double Jeopardy Clause, prohibits state and federal governments from prosecuting individuals for the same crime on more than one occasion, or imposing more than one punishment for a single offense. Each of the 50 states offers similar protection through its own constitution, statutes, and Common Law.” - Work cited from https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/

It’s past due time for citizens to expect an elected representative to know and understand The Constitution. Any politician that demonstrates a disregard for The Constitution should be removed from office at least, or tried as a traitor at most.
