I have moved all my content away from the now centralized and controlled Steem blockchain to the decentralized Hive blockchain.

So you are asking us for more comments?

A few weeks after I started following you I left a couple of comments but never got a reply so I stopped commenting here.

I'm still following you and reading your post and watching the videos. You are bringing good content which is often helpful for me.

Just thought there is no point in asking questions or commenting since it seems you are too busy.
Of course I enjoy upvotes on my comments to but a reply is sometimes even nicer.

Don't worry no bad feelings at all!!!
I'm still interests in what you have to say.

Allies klar? Mach Mach weiter so und halt den Kopf oben. Ich schau immer mal wieder rein was du so machst. Und wenn du mir ab und zu mal antwortest oder ein Upvote da lässt, bin ich doch schon glücklich. Ha ha!

Viele Grüße aus Japan!!

Hey, I am sorry if I didn't reply. Usually I always do that but I had a few moments during my Steemit time where I was distracted, not motivated or something else. I had a few posts with over a hundred comments where I surely have a missed few. And sometimes it happens that I just don't see the reply in my list because my eyes skip over it.

I know the feeling though. I rarely comment on one of the top Steemit authors posts because they have so many comments that they never answer that I just don't care.

Every upvote I give always comes with a reply as well, both for posts and for comments. :)

Japan klingt traumhaft! Ich kann ein paar Worte aus Animeserien auf japanisch.

Thanks for your reply mate.
I know, as popular people on Steemit get as more comment they need to answer so easy to miss something.

No worries, no offense taken!!!

Costa Rica klingt doch auch super. Da ist es jetzt wenigstens wärmer als bei uns, ist dir gerade knapp über null. Und es schneit!

Ich habe Schnee seit 4 Jahren nicht mehr gesehen.

@flauwy, I can relate to this sentence completely: "I rarely comment on one of the top Steemit authors posts because they have so many comments that they never answer that I just don't care."

What ticks me off most is when I comment and upvote on my so called friends' posts and they replied on their own post without any else, but that is what we have to live with too.

Yeah @flauwy
You are right
Steemit is a social media
Interaction is needed, it feels good to know people are reading your post and also dropping feedback.

This is what makes it interesting. Otherwise you are just here to grind for money but that gets boring and inefficiant over time. True interaction is key to for the long-term motivation!

Don't get too discouraged @flauwy ! This is all still so new, especially for all us newcomers, so I think in time things will become more stable.

I will admit I was a little disappointed when I first joined steemit and noticed so many users using upvote bots and/or constantly self voting (and you can see on some pages the massive difference in post views vs votes which isn't so great for the platform). Of course I can totally see why this approach is appealing given that it is completely within the rules and it gives you a much higher exposure (and money) and theoretically more engagement but there's just something about voting bots and self-voting that doesn't sit too well with me. But that's just my humble opinion. I'm sure there are plenty who would argue on the contrary.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'll do my best to not to use bots or upvote my own content and see where it takes me. At least this way I can be sure that any engagement I get will be fairly organic, at least in theory.

I must say so far I've really enjoyed most of the content that is being posted here on steemit and the steemians are really awesome so even if my future posts don't end up being successful without bots at least I'll be enjoying the process of engaging and consuming content and having fun along the way :)

Cheers!

Yes, that is a very valid concern and something everybody needs to consider. Now I believe that upvote bots should only be used for really high upvotes that guarantee a trending post IF that post really needs exposure and is not just a spammy o low quality post. For example this post of mine here would not deserve that right to be trending.

I find myself to be in the spot that if I don't use an upvote bot, I get 10 or less votes and maybe $.03 on my blogs. I don't really want to use upvote bots but I feel like I am in a place that if I don't, then my blog goes nowhere. I know Steem is supposed to be a social media type site, but most of the time people don't engage like they would if you made a facebook post.

Any advice on how to get away from the upvote bot world but still actually feel like you are making a difference?

I have been there, believe me. We all have. Keep it up and don't let yourself fooled as I have myself. Calculate very carfully if it is still worth it. I give you a few upvotes to get you started. Your content looks good! Be as active as right now and things turn to the better quickly.

What I am seeing a very improved blogger now.
I wish to make some great posts but they need time and I am caught up with so mamy things that cant find enough time for detailed posts.

Just keeping in touch to steemit as it is a good project.

I am planning to sharing my trading analysis and results now

Thanks, I do what I can. I think my quality goes up and down in terms of visual look and content. But I am not really interested in being a top quality blogger all the time. I find it fun to just make a post like this that will make little money but creates plenty of interaction. This post exceeded my expectations.

I have also noticed less comments recently. Seems people are a bit more busy than they used to. If I do read a post I read it carefully so that I can give a relevant comment. Did you say there is a new function for the comment payout ? I haven't seen that

That might be a SteemPlus feature then which is the only extension I use. Reward choice for comments. I will not touch that though since I think comments are one of the greatest way to make SBD right now. :)

That is very true !

hey im new to steemit i follow you because i think you share mostly quality content!!also you posted some helpful tutorials... i found you threw your youtube channel! also very helpful

Thanks for the compliment. Good to know that you found me via YouTube. I was wondering if I continue to upload my stuff there or if I shift entirely to DTube. I guess it does make sense to post there as well.

jup or try it on https://d.tube/ i think its steemits youtube and you get also money for content :)
i also found steemplus threw you thanks a lot!

Yeah, read my comment again and then compare it with your reply. ;)

As utopian mods we've been working together for some time. You came up with the utopian 1up. You seem like an innovativor and although we are yet to interact on a more personal level, after reading this post, I think I got to know you better. Best of luck !!

Hey fellow MOD, let us chat on Discord if you like! I am always up for a talk. :)

Sure

as a newcomer to steemit I am grateful to learn from other Steemians. I like steemit for being able to comment with friends from other countries. I am happy in steemit and sharing information. I understand that steemit is unpredictable. but I keep trying from all friends. never too late to learn. all must start from now. I want to succeed in steemit, but I have not understood this steemit. please help me to learn and start well. thank you for getting a positive response from friends all.

Check out my Steemy videos. I have 50 tutorials about the Steem ecosystem. :)

Thanks

Bots only helped to to increase reps. I feel like they are never beneficial on other way if you are buying votes. I realized I would never get what I have invested after the final payout day.

I was able to grind rather effectively for starters. But it got more complicated and now they are only good for really big promotion in my opinion. Like 100$ upvotes and you don't care about the return.

Yes, you are absolutely right at this point. I used to get some extra vote after getting bigger votes from bots in the beginning. But slowly things have changed, then later was getting votes only from bots. It's the complete loss for a user like me who buy smaller votes.
Like you said it might not be any issue for big users because they can simply capture trending/hot feeds buying $100 or more upvotes.

wellcome @flauwy for yor new aims, i appreciate your this positive thinking. i think good, bad and ugly are the circumstances you face in your life. thats the part of life we never go down in such worst conditions. we should all time think positive and hope high. i also used the bots for upvoting on my posts but i think they are looting us and mostly fraudant. i realy appreciate your this initiative for supporting others via comments upvoting. keep it up. best wishes from me.

Yes, life is all about that, isn't it? Sometimes difficult to stay positive but that is key for a good life.

thanks for positive compliment. i think in this platform needed people like you who thinks for others.

Haha, I hope that most can think for themselves. :P

It sounds like introductions are in order. Pleased to meet you @flauwy. I too am a member of the Stewards of Gondor and my contributions are made through my blogging rather than curating. I am writing about off-grid living, freedom, spiritual growth and my experiences along a path less traveled. It is a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to sharing back and forth. Peace to you!

Nice to meet you @wwf. Your content sounds very interesting!

Thank you, great idea to macke more attention.

Improving interaction is key to make the Steemit experience better.

Hey @flauwy,

I think the voting bots are still useful at low levels to help avoid posts getting lost among all the spam (of which there is a growing amount).

But I also think that utopian-io has given lots of people a chance to get some visibility which brings less need to promote their other posts. The busy.org upvote is another example. It shows what can be done with a little thought around the reward system. Welcome changes!

True, there are great alternatives now to upvote bots. :)

I really want to write a book, it is my dream but no worries I will not be commenting a book-long here hahahah. I would just like to thank you for this initiative in helping minnows like us. I hope to get your attention by this comment and will be following and looking forward for your minnow friendly tutorials. :)

I think it is pretty cool to publish a book on the Steem blockchain in a step-by-step process. My only concern is that it might get lost on the clutter. So it would be a great idea for a new Steem platform doing exactly that: Publishing and highlighting books.

That would be great if it is a near possibility. I have been trying to find book related posts since I joined the Steem platform but I cannot find any. I tried posting book related stuffs and they brought me no audience but it is okay. Just yesterday I am reading a book and I plan to post a review of that book (and my future reads for that matter) as soon as I finished reading them. Hope it will work for me in the meantime because I really love reading and writing. :)

Here is an example for a book published in small bits to Steemit: https://steemit.com/fiction/@everittdmickey/41mjjr-the-yggdrasil-highway-saga

Hi :D English is not my native languaje, but google traductor is good. I like this photos on your post.

No problemo, yo hablo Espanol tambien.

Igualmente! :)

Loving this post! Human interaction is missing some times here, and if the only comments you are getting are from bots, it sucks sometimes. I like the human interaction on Steemit, and yeah my upvote is only 5 cents or 4 if Im too enthusiastic, but I just like upvoting comments as well. Its a form of gratitude to people who decide to visit your page.

But true, when you are not on the trending page, people will not find you that fast.. pro's con's pro's con's.. A bit of both??

Certainly a bit of both. But like you said, human interaction is important and often lacking.

Nice post friend, well i am not in favor of those voting bots or vote selling humans because if we do the math the vote we gets from them is always produce less amount of rewards and we ends up getting nothing and if peoples do this because they think that their post comes up in trending or hot page, i don't think it will work either because steemit algorithm only allow those posts to come in trending which have good amount of comments or proper users interactions, you made a wise decision to stop using those voting bots, wishing you all the best for all of your future endeavors! Stay blessed

There was a time when I was actually making money with them. Those times are over for sure!

Yes I agree @fulltimegeek is an awesome pay-it-forward steemian!

He is my most valuable player. :)

I don´t think I fully understood, maybe because the language. You said that you wasted money in the bots? How so? Anyway, thanks for the chance, cheers!

Yes, I wasted hundreds of Dollars on Bots. I also gained a considerable amount by them and I surely found new followers with them. But they are not really worth it.

yeah, agree. I use it only once, and I felt that way too. Thans for answering

Nothing wrong with a little self promotion. There are countless industries that necessitate it. Why can’t steemit be one of them

No, nothing wrong with it. I probably spend about 5000 Steem Dollars on it over the past months.

Ahh, the feeling of not getting genuine comments from genuine readers. I feel you. This post actually got my attention because "The good, the bad, and the ugly" will be in my sketchbook tour title, haha! :) And I am declining payout for this comment! Cheer up!

I think this is the first time I am seeing a payout decline on a comment. Awesome! I upvote it to bring it higher. :)

I hope you'll feel a lot better! :)

For the people that want to understand the reward system of steemit, I posted an infographic, which is very simple to understand!!

Thanks for putting this out there, I went to find out more with @fulltimegeek loved his approach to delegation and learned a whole lot more.

Glad my thinking over the past couple of weeks in assisting via delegation puts me on track to helping where I am able, a bit of learning and reading eventually confirmed.

Keep up the motivation posts and on-going learning it helps those to get over problems, keep blogging.

This post has received a 4.94 % upvote from @boomerang thanks to: @flauwy

@boomerang distributes 100% of the SBD and up to 80% of the Curation Rewards to STEEM POWER Delegators. If you want to bid for votes or want to delegate SP please read the @boomerang whitepaper.

I've established myself on a few different social media sites over the years, and I've come to expect a few things out of building a new niche:

1.) Your starting point will always be super tiny. Unless people are following you, you're not getting anywhere. It sucks, but it's the truth. From Facebook (ugh) to Twitter (yuck) to Tsu (RIP) to Minds (eh) to Gab (I hope more people join it) to here on Steemit (yay!), I know how long it can take to build out your fanbase and make things happen.

2.) Your best bet to getting people to follow you is to start following them first. Get their attention, and then they start following you. And it all snowballs from there.

3.) Engage your followers. This is the important part. Replying to comments, upvoting where you can, and sharing their posts will come around and eventually give you the same treatment. Just make sure you're posting enough original content of your own for them to share!

Jeez, I really should just make a blog post on this. Might actually be easier!

really nice i like it..
